Pascal is still alive in...the 8 or so languages we study today ( at SoloLearn) because the operative word in Pascal is the algorithmic language in it's acronym. Fortran and Lisp still live in Ruby. Python is an amalgamation of the majority of programming language. Lisp is also alive in Swift. The Swift language is huge in Apple and the iPhones. Android is a child of Java. The languages only change form due to modern use or modern acceptance.
