PHP vs Python for back-end development?

I am confused between which is better...

It depends on the project requirements. But I would recommend PHP in most cases.

PHP has been developped for websites, but Python's goal is more expanded than that of PHP; there are loads of frameworks which works side-by-side with PHP, and PHP can easily control databases, like MySQL. I think PHP is better for back-end development and database manipulating than Python, which is better for machine learning, apps, etc.
