I have worked at Highdown now for 10 years! I wanted to be a teacher from a very
young age and worked very hard to achieve it. I love working with young people and
seeing them develop and grow into amazing characters. My passion has always been
around the Arts, especially musical theatre. I grew up performing in musicals, plays
and concerts which helped me develop my skills and my confidence in performance. I
am Curriculum Leader of Performing Arts which means I manage teams in both
Drama and Music. I also teach KS3, 4 and 5 Drama.
As a department we put on various productions, concerts, recitals and plays
throughout the year. It is in these extracurricular opportunities that students get to
work with other likeminded individuals and share their talent. There is a long standing tradition of
professional quality performances at Highdown and we are always looking for the next person to shine.
Performing Arts Festival - Saturday 7 July 12-4 pm
In association with the Highdown PTA and the Heads of Houses, the
Performing Arts Department will be hosting the first Performing Arts Festival
at Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre. The event will take place on
Saturday 7 July 2018 between 12 and 4pm. You will be entertained by
students and staff as they perform live music, a performance from our own
Highdown Dance Company and maybe a short performance from our KS3
Drama club. As well as this wonderful afternoon of entertainment, you can
also enjoy a BBQ and drinks laid on by the PTA with fete activities and stalls
hosted by the Heads of House and their teams. So bring your wallet!
The money raised from the event will be divided between the PTA, the Performing Arts Department, the
charities that the various houses support and World Challenge.
We hope you will be able to support this event and make it a real Highdown
School community day of fun! Please bring your family and friends and do
not forget a picnic blanket.
