Python3.6 vs. Python2.7 ?

Which Python version should one learn if learning for first time? As Python2.* will become extinct ;) soon, so python3.5+ is preferred but most of current Python Apps are built using python2.*, ..so great confusion in setting the priority.!! Can anyone can give a life saving suggestion plz ?!!

I had the same choice once. I chose for 3.5 + because it is the future and most third party libraries seem to work with it. I don't know about current python apps. I use python for a hobby.
