Programming job

When working at a programming job for a company, what do you do when you get stuck? Do they expect you to solve it all by yourself? Do you get help? Is it looked down upon to frequently ask for help?

Deadpool well, you are probably better at programming than me. I can make simple 2D games on C++ with SDL, or GUI apps and pretty decent web pages with php. But I cannot make really good programs so that is why I worry

Google and StackOverflow :p when you're first starting out you do need support, as long as you're trying and progressing it's fine. There are definitely times when you think you're not cut out for the job, but keep at it, you were hired for a reason, your employer must have seen potential!

Deadpool I am just worried I will get fired haha But how proficient are new programmers at a company. I assume the senior are pretty good but how much do they expect from a new programmer.

depends on situation and persons mentality...if it's me I would look for help myself first ..if can't solve then seek others help.
