Do I need a college degree in India to get a job ?

Does one still need a college degree to land in a good job in a country like "INDIA" even if one had more technical knowledge than a college graduate with that same degree.

There are two sides of to this question. let me elaborate about it . Most of the people that a company hire are without a degree, students usually get placements in last college year, while they need to wait for some extra time to get a degree. 😂😂 Jokes apart, yeah you need to be persuading a degree to get a decent job ( at least 500k inr per annum). But the point to note is most of the jobs in India are provided by MNC's and their functioning and belief system is different. So, that degree is just to tell them you are staying something related to your field and nothing else which means, the college doesn't matter much but your skills does (except if you don't want to put in extra work and go for interviews and are totally relying on placements in your college).Because the matter of fact is these companies (MNC's) give you a short term training of somewhere around 6 months and then you get your payroll based on your performance of that training and not based on the degree or college you can from and after working for that particular company, you are ought to have experience which in itself is enough to get you a job at another company if in case you don't want to continue with that company. So, the only advantage that going to a reputed college is that companies go in search of employees in that college. But you can get in same company by applying online or through other sources but you have to put an extra effort which hardly anything is willing to take which is why they end up where they are. Hope that helps.😉😉😉

I would have thought it depends on the type of job.

It actually depends on how much companies rely on that idea. There are companies that don't like that and do see potential in self-taught learners. If perhaps every company in india requires a degree, then you need a degree. I don't know if there are companies that don't need a degree from you in India. Here in the netherlands when you get a degree, you almost instantly get to work because there is a lack of people that work there. Good luck friend.
