Incorporate as much interaction from the user as possible. Most people forget a lot of useful information because they learn it in a passive manner, so the more engaged someone is into what's being learned, the stronger the bonds created in their brain to remember the information and recall it later. As well, when one is working to remember things, a useful tactic is to think of something really elaborate or crazy to associate with what you're trying to remember. The reason is because this causes the brain to use more energy to process the "out of the ordinary" imagery being associated with what you're learning, which causes it to also store stronger bonds and allow one to more easily recall the information. It is similar to why marketing uses random huge fonts or "randomly" colored words that are different than the rest of the text, etc.. So bring some type of imagery into the tool which would help assist with their learning on a subconscious level. People love to be entertained and feel like whatever their doing has purpose; the reason why SoloLearn has their XP/level/badge/leaderboard systems. I'd make sure that you create some sort of system that allows one to see their progress/milestones, how they stack up against the community, and other small accomplishments that would assist in motivating them during their progression.

Use color coding; make different types of objects with differwnt colors. Like built-in / not built-in functions.
