What second language should you learn after Python if you want to be a good back-end developer?

I was looking at Java or C++. As far as I understand for front-end it is essential to know html, css and JavaScript, but I have no idea what about back-end. Any thougts?

As you've learnt Python, you can already program some platform independent programs. Now if you want to take the path for android, learn KIVI. If "Web" is what you desire, get the hold of Django. Only problem would be for making apple's Apps(For OSX, Mac or iOS)
