Why not do a basic electronics course.

Given the popularity of embedded, why not give a basic course in electronics for programmers looking to move into embedded programming?

I don't know which is more disappointing, Jan's reply or the fact another 6 people voted it up....

James, if you don't understand electronics, it doesn't really matter what language the microcontroller is programmed in. I'm suggesting a short course in basic electronics (voltage, current, resistors, capacitors, etc.) also a section on applied electronics would be good, (pull resistors, transistors as a switch, PWM as a power control, voltage regulation.

James apologies if I appeared flippant. I did the C++ module here and it was great but didn't really tell me how I would set up an i2c or spi communication bus etc. it's a bit esoteric but might be of interest to some here. would certainly be if interest to me as a lot of the books on embedded are very heavy or plain weird!
