to start with, it works entirely different from SQL or Relational Database Management Systems. NoSQL is just a terminology to specify it's not like SQL. In RDBMS, every data that is stored will be in related to one or more table. Where as in NoSQL DB, it varies from Key-Value pairs to document based storing. And each record is independent.
