CMS vs traditional web developing

hi i think using some CMS such as wordpress is very helpful and powerful to build a website than using html or another languages, what do you think ? can you give more information on CMS ? does we got the opportunity to create a professional website ? does using a CMS require knowing already (html, css,js) or just little knowledge is enough ?

I personally have some experience with wordpress and it's really easy to install and maintain without knowing any php. But your site might be slow on a weak server (raspberry pi) because of php. An other cms I currently use is ghost, which works similar to wordpress but is written with javascript and node.js so it works much faster and gives you all features you need, too. Many professional websites actually use wordpress (or others cms) but they often create their own themes and plugins to add new features and make it look better. If your using wordpress or ghost you can even access the source code and edit it for your own purposes (in this case ghost should be better as it has a better documentation and dev tools as far I know) If you want to set up an linux web server for your cms I can help you for I have some experience with it after two years of administration ;)

Hmm as someone who tried both -using HTML/PHP and Wordpress, a manual website is most often lighter, with less unnecessary codes and fluff. Its also friendlier to Google -just follow the basic SEO guideline and you’ll definitely rank. Also, they’re easier to control and make into something other than a blog or a magazine. Other than that, Wordpress always wins -because GUI.
