Are Photoshop, illustrator ... important to be a web designer?

should I learn Photoshop,illustrator to be a great designer?

If you're looking to work in the industry for a company, you will have no need to know it. If you're going freelance, definitely learn it. Most companies use graphic designers, but as a freelance, you will get businesses that can't afford them looking for sites so you need to be able to make okay images.

Not necessarily. Those are good if you want to add neat images to your websites, but most of the visuals for your sites are left up to HTML and CSS.

I find them useful to plan out web pages, but I usually only use basic components
