Though biased, I will say that programming is both an amazing job and hobby. Some of the well-known infie games are made by single programmers in their spare time; Undertale being one of them. Also, programming as a job can be amazing; great pay, wonderful conditions, flexible schedules, and sometimes, it can even be an at-home job.

I suppose it might be. But think of it more like solving problems than it is writing code.
