hi ppl, I want to get into robotics iam teaching myself electronics n hv been learning java(currently intermediate). iam told that for robotics C is the best lang to know. 1. is that tru? 2. how far apart is java n C? wat are good resources to learn robotics? I m not in a rush I just want to be good

yes c is a good choice.
just read some code snippets of c or cpp l. you should ruoghly understand.
Buy a Micro:bit and create an account on mbed. It is a good entry poinrt.

Depends on the IC or logic you want to use. Good thing you know electricity and logic gates, itll make it easier!
In general, the closer to the cpu the language is, the better! The closest is electricity itself.
Yea C is better because its closer and has pointers for memory, but Java also has embedded languages. Maybe your blu ray player uses Java!
The simplest to learn/make robotics would be Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and Beagle board.
Raspberry Pi's main language is Python, but you can install other libraries for other languages (wiringPi for example)
Arduino is strictly (I believe) C.
Beagleboard not too sure.
Of course research ICs to save money and get what suits you.
2) Java and C are slightly similar. Java is class heavy, which C lacks (except structs but bleh)
C is closer to the hardware than Java.
Java requires a runtime environment the JVM.
