Ruby firs because it's cool and the syntax is easy and forgiving for beginners.
Also with a small piece of code you can do a lot...
from there on out you can branch off to Python or JS... or any other lang...😉

I'm new to this too. but I can say this: no one is the same, just try things out and see what you like. that's what I am doing.
