[Off Topic] Community Opinion on Threads

Question

I apologize for asking something non programming related.
I've noticed old threads jumping to life after a few months had past, or even a year. It's barely any help when the question has already been answered and everyone is satisfied.
I would like to know what the community would think about a "LOCK" function on threads. That when the thread is answered and everyone is satisfied with the discussions, the questioner can lock the thread.
