I am shifting careers from sales to Web development and needed to create something to showcase my skills on my portfolio. What kind of project or app can I make? Thank you.

Have you tried to complete the projects offered by freeCodeCamp? They are very complete. You can also make websites for places you visit frequently or a blog, that way you would show your skills
